Diet and Alzheimer's Disease
“IN ALL OUR YEARS TOGETHER, I SAW MY UNLCLE CRY ONLY ONCE. OLLIE DEVELOPED ALZEIMER’S AND HAD TO BE MOVED TO A NURSING HOME. FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AFTERWARD, SHE KNEW WHO SHE WAS FOR A FEW MINUTES A DAY. DURING THE THOSE LUCID INTERVALS, SHE WOULD CALL BUDDY AND SAY, “OREN, HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME INTHIS PLACE AFTER FIFTY-YEARS OF MARRIAGE? COME GET ME RIGHT NOW.” HE WOULD DUTIFULLY DRIVE OVER TO SEE HER, BUT THE TIME HE GOT THERE SHE WOULD BE LOST AGAIN IN THE MISTS OF THE DISEASE AND DIDN’T KNOW HIM.”
Excerpt from the Book, “My Life” Author, Bill Clinton
