WELCOME TO IMASC: Indian Medical Association of Southern California.
The Indian Medical Association of Southern California(IMASC) was founded in 1979 and is a well established non-profit, tax-exempt professional organization with physician members drawn from Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. Our members are leaders in academic medicine, spearhead leading edge research and represent your interests at organizations like the CMA and OCMA. The IMASC organizes continuing medical education activities in the form of monthly and annual education seminars. We are also a member of the Network of Ethnic Physician Organizations, a project of California Medical Association Foundation. MASC constitutes the local chapter of the American Association of Physicians of India, the largest national organization of ethnic physicians representing more than 41,000 physicians. Our Annual Convention is attended by over 500 physician members and their guests including professionals and political dignitaries.
ISome of the highlights of the Convention include a CME program “Recent Advances in Medicine”,exhibits, gala banquet, and a cultural program. We honor physicians, medical students and residents with Physician of the Year Award, Distinguished Physician for Community Service Award, Outstanding Research Awards and Individual Scholarship Awards. The charitable affairs of the IMASC include health fairs, health clinics, support of organizations like Pratham and Ekal Vidyalaya, Disaster relief etc. We plan to expand our outreach programs to show our strong commitment to the community and to our members.
I am delighted and humbled to be the President for Indian Medical Association of Southern California! During my tenure, I would work on bringing younger doctors into the organization; so that we can continue to have the unity and voice from our community!
We as physicians are blessed to be in such a noble profession, where we can help improve the quality of life and alleviate the sufferings of our fellow human beings! I would like for our organization to be active in providing community services and give back to the community.
The members of our organization are the sons and daughters of two mothers – India and USA! Let's help our communities by volunteering for free medical camps or by helping spread health awareness, to prevent the diseases.
Look forward to a fun filled and active 2016!
