WELCOME TO IMASC: Indian Medical Association of Southern California.
The Indian Medical Association of Southern California(IMASC) was founded in 1979 and is a well established non-profit, tax-exempt professional organization with physician members drawn form Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. Many of the physicians belong to Kaiser Permanente. The IMASC organizes continuing medical education activities in the form of monthly and annual education seminars. We are a member of Network of Ethnic Physician Organizations, a project of California Medical Association Foundation. IMASC constitutes the local chapter of the American Association of Physicians of India, the largest national organization of ethnic physicians representing more than 41,000 physicians.
Our Annual Convention is attended by over 500 physician members and their guests including professionals and political dignitaries. Some of the highlights of the Convention include a CME program “Recent Advances in Medicine”,exhibits, gala banquet, and a cultural program. We honor physicians, medical students and residents with Physician of the Year Award, Outstanding Research Awards and Scholarship Awards. The charitable affairs of the IMASC include health fair, health clinics, and monthly patient education articles in the news media. We plan to expand several outreach programs to show our strong commitment to the community and to our members.
